After losing their first two games in the Nextgen Series tournament Aston Villa’s young lions looked like they were not going to repeat last season’s feat of qualifying from the group stages of what has been dubbed the youth Champion’s League. Yet, a home win against Celtic, followed by a series of results going in Villa’s favour, sees the table well-balanced going into the second-half of fixtures.
Villa though will probably need a win from tonight’s visit to Celtic to harbour any real chance of progressing. It promises to be a tough trip with Celtic recently beating the previously 100% PSV Eindhoven 3-1 at home. In tonight’s other game in Group 4, Sporting entertain PSV, where a win for either would make them favourites for the group.
Good luck to the Young Lions. UTV

2-2 – not great after being 2-0 up. That might be it now, Villa would need to win last two games to have any chance.
