Taylor Switch
As some Villa fans would have already heard, there had been talk of the planned fundraising Graham Taylor tribute game between Villa and Watford on Saturday July 29, originally planned for Vicarage Road, switching to Villa Park. Today, the club confirmed that the mooted switch will indeed take place.
The match’s switch was enforced due to delays with Watford’s pitch renovation schedule.
The match will go ahead at 3pm, although ticket prices and arrangements aren’t forthcoming yet. It was confirmed on Villa’s website that the tickets won’t be on sale until the week commencing July 10th.
The site also confirmed that profits from the Graham Taylor OBE Tribute Matchday will be shared between the Taylor family’s nominated charities; Staffordshire-based National Memorial Arboretum and Watford’s Community Sports & Education Trust, as well as the AV Former Players’ Club and the Aston Villa Foundation.

this is excellent news. It would be great to have a GT memorial at Villa Park, but this might not be the best place. WHat would be good is a memorial book to be signed at Villa and Watford and any other place linked to GT. A truly excellent man who deserves to be remembered.
