This weekend will see supporters of Premier League and Championship clubs united in a nationwide protest over football ticket prices for the first time in the history of the game.
The focus is on away tickets with the Football Supporters Federation (FSF) Twenty’s Plenty campaign which seeks to cap all away tickets at £20.
The FSF are supplying supporter groups with banners to display at all of the weekend’s fixtures. MOMS has organised the Villa one below.
There had been reports though that Aston Villa would have an issue with Stoke City fans bringing in their banner due to the club’s policy of not allowing banners or flags in the away end (not very sporting if you ask me).
The Stoke Sentinel newspaper rushed to condemn Villa despite the fact no Stoke fan had actually approached the club on the issue. Something we encouraged Stoke fans to do and it paid off with the club offering to install it in the away end.
There will be a photo opportunity with the banners for all Villa and Stoke fans who want to show their support of the campaign in the Holte End carpark at 2.15pm before the game. All fans welcome. UTV
