SFTW – It’s Mostar to Brentford for Aston Villa

With a home run of 15-consecutive wins to their name, it’s time for Aston Villa to polish up their Premier League away form, after successfully picking up the point they needed against Zrinjski Mostar to secure their Europa Conference League group.

Premier League teams on the whole haven’t enjoyed the best of fortunes away from home. Even the league’s previous top two away teams – Manchester City and Arsenal – both lost in the space of a week against Villa.

Currently, Spurs have the best away record, with Manchester City, second. Both have five away wins in nine games. If Villa beat Brentford, Emery’s men will have four wins in nine, so despite concerns about their away form, they aren’t that far off, as only four Premier League teams would have more away wins.

We look ahead to the forthcoming trip to Brentford in the latest episode of Something for the Weekend, on the MOMS podcast.
