The Infamous Walkout
Lets step back in time to the 2010/11 season when a certain manager walked out on Aston Villa with days to go to the start of the season, leaving his team high and dry (Crystal Palace we feel your pain).
It could be argued that Villa haven’t recovered yet from the day the current Ireland manager O’Neill turned his back on the club, after failing to qualify for the Champions League by splashing over-the-odds cash on the likes of Harewood, Heskey, Warnock, Davis, Sidwell, Storey, Collins, Reo Coker and co.
O’Neill has always escaped any retribution. Journalists have never pushed him on the subject over the years and he even managed to get the boot at Sunderland months before Villa spanked Sunderland 6-1. Oh, if only O’Neill was the Black Cat manager on that evening at Villa Park!
Going back to the day MON threw his toys out of the pram and did one, hands up if you would have liked to have poured a giant bucket of ice water (if you couldn’t get you hands on petrol) on O’Neill when you heard the news of his exodus?
Well, thanks to someone who is fast becoming Villa’s new favourite son, such payback is on the cards…
The Roy Keane Ice Bucket Challenge
The best thing of the Roy Keane Ice Bucket Challenge for charity (in the above video) wasn’t that the ice actually seemed to melt out of the intrepidation of touching the fiery Irish man or that Keane hardly flinched, but the fact that Keano nominated Martin O’Neill to get an ice drenching.
Roy Keane we salute you for taking care of long overdue Villa business. UTV
I’d have thrown the bucket over Lerner rather than O’Neill…
Grow up.
Lighten up
