Reason Why Arsenal Away Date Change Hasn’t Happened Yet

Arsenal Away Date Limbo

For those wondering why Aston Villa’s trip to Arsenal on Saturday 5.30pm hasn’t been put back to the Sunday yet, due to Villa’s involvement in the Europa Conference League, the Premier League has delayed the announcement of fixture rounds 33 (13th April), 34 (20th April) and 35 (27th April) until next week.

This wait is primarily down to the FA Cup Semi-Finals taking place on the weekend of the 20th April, so announcing now would mean asterisks being placed against all fixtures. By announcing next week, all fixtures should be set in stone.

Villa, of course, face off against Lille in the home leg of their quarter-final clash on Thursday April 11th, so Villa’s trip to Arsenal will definitely take place on Sunday, the only question is – at what time?

Likewise, Villa’s home match against Bournemouth, that follows the away leg at Lille, will be put back to Sunday 21st April.

Stay tuned for an announcement from the Premier League and club, next week.
