Premier League Match Round 27 Change Date
After the last fixture changes for broadcasting took place a week before Christmas, with Sky Sports picking up Aston Villa’s games against Wolves (1st February – 17.30) and Chelsea (22nd February – 17.30), changes to the remaining Match Round 27 in the final week of February was put off until the week commencing 13 January 2025.
The Premier League claim the delay is due to the ‘complexities around the match calendar’ and will wait until after the FA Cup fourth-round draw to make their decision. European competitions though, will not affect the decision, as the extended group stages don’t conclude until the end of January in the three competitions.

You’d think it would be unlikely that Villa’s trip to Crystal Palace (currently scheduled for Tuesday 25th February) will be picked up for Sky Sports broadcast, especially when Sky Sports have already selected Villa’s game against Chelsea for the week before.
Villa will be hoping for a quiet February by finishing in the top eight of the Champions League table, thus avoiding the additional play-off knockout phase for the last 16, which take place on the 11/12 & 18/19 February 2025.
If Villa can make it directly into the Round of 16, they won’t have to play the first leg until 4/5 March 2025.
