Away points system for the 2024/25 Season
After originally contemplating a change half-way through last season, Aston Villa have switched to a new points based away system for the distribution of away tickets.
In maintaining the principle of rewarding travelling fans for their loyalty, there isn’t any real seismic change in how it works, but the club hopes it will ‘streamline the process for fans to monitor how many points they have and eligibility for tickets’.
In the club announcement on the new Away Points System, which many other clubs have in operation, Villa states that:
Each Season Ticket Holder will start with 1,000 points. Additionally, for every Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup away game attended in the 2023/24 season, an additional 10 points has been awarded. The maximum Away Points available from the 2023/24 season is 210.
Points accumulated from the 2023/24 season will expire on December 15, 2024.
For the 2024/25 season, 10 points will be granted per away domestic fixture attended, these points will become active in the second half of the season.
Supporters can view their Away Points balance by logging into their online account and selecting the ‘Away Points’ tab.
Both Hospitality and GA+ Season Ticket Holders can now purchase tickets online from the hospitality allocation during the same criteria windows.
Champions League Away Ticket Allocation
Champions League away ticket allocation will not be privy to the system used for domestic aways. There will have a separate criteria and the club have stated that home and away Europa Conference games from last season will count.
It is hoped that the Champions League will bring bigger away allocations than the Europa Conference League, but that picture will become a lot clearer once the draw is made for the league stage on August 29th.
