Aston Villa and Moussa Diaby Show They Mean Business

Aston Villa Mean Business in Preseason

So far, so good for Aston Villa in the USA this summer. Two decent performances in the Premier League Summer Series and delivery of Moussa Diaby to Villa’s summer camp in DC and a decent goal on his debut to boot.

Unai Emery will no doubt already be pleased with the levels Villa have shown against both Newcastle United and Fulham. In the final game against Brentford, he’ll no doubt use the match against the Bees to gain further insights into his younger players and see how the likes of Cameron Archer and Jaden Philogene can feature in the Villa squad in the season ahead.

Due to the close proximity to each other of the final couple of preseason games against Lazio and Valencia, they should provide an insight into how Villa will tackle the Thursday/Sunday game weeks, that their involvement in the Europa Conference League provides. While you’d expect Emery to go strong in the initial European games, will he swap his centre-back pairing specifically for European games?
