Id play reserves. Nothing to lose they did well against Liverpool. Be a good day out regardless. Can’t do any worse thaneague game. I thought Leicester were better than man city best iv seen at Villa Park for years and we eat them deservedly. So anything can happen. Typical Villa organisation on tickets I got thrown off site then it was down finally got back on for over an hours wait and 11000 queue. Total chaos yet again cud not get ticket near my family and friends. Why did not stagger it so easy to sort.. Leas like last season trying to get away tickets.. Sold out oh there’s 2000 left!! I only managed to get 8 away tickets so in need of 9 I doubt I’ll ever add to my 67 grounds iv seen us play on as I’m now 70 and like the first time season ticket holders will never again qualify. Don’t worry about loyalty. Thanks villa
I think we’re putting to much emphasis on cup football when what we should be concerned about is our desperate league position. Let’s be honest in the very unlikely event of us winning the cup, how is that going to help us stay in the PL. ok it’s great for the club being in a final but on a personal note I would swop that any day for 6 league points. I know I’m being pessimistic but I have to be honest I really don’t fancy our chances against Spurs, and if I’m really honest I don’t fancy our chances in general. We have two new strikers one might be good eventually the other unknown quantity not fancied, and Davis injured again and even when fit can’t score, when did he last score a goal ? All pundits reckon we’re going down and at the moment who’s to say we won’t, looks very much to me like DS and the rest of the board are preparing for the Championship.
This kind of loser mentality comment makes me think that football might not be for you.
“Too much emphasis on cup final” ??? The only really competitive game we’ve played in the cup with our first team was the semi-final. Those two games gave the players the confidence they could beat a top four team.
The final is a free hit at silverware and a good day out. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, if I was you.
As for your other comments, have some heart for the battle. It’s a good job the players or most of Villa’s fanbase don’t share your mentality, or we’d be relegated already.
This season was always going to be tough, so have some bottle.
This season was always going to be tough. Our recruitment has been structured on the basis we have been getting in players with potential to improve on the field and in value as assets. Potential was the only way to go working with the number of players we needed to get in.
There have been clear improvements by many players – Nyland, Grealish and Target are three that immediately come to mind.
If we can battle and stay up we should only get stronger McGinn was getting better game by game before a couple of games before injury. He will make a massive difference when back in the side.
I think recruitment moving forward (if in the Premier League) will be more about quality than quantity, but still in line with the mantra of young hungry players with potential to improve.
I agree the the final is a free hit and a welcome distraction for a day, but survival is key to push on. I am fully on board with the long term vision for the club, but understand the short term concerns around survival.
