Aston Villa’s Summer Reality Check
Aston Villa are currently sitting in a docile state when it comes to squad building for the 2026/27 season. Player holidays are in full-swing, the World Cup is on, and the June 30th end to Villa’s financial year means you’re not going to see any activity before then.
While you can afford to relax a bit and ignore the transfer clickbait (for at least another week), pre-season friendlies have formed on the horizon, there’s a Super Cup to be won, and we know the Premier League fixtures, well, until Sky Sports changes them again.

Er…Bob, it’s a post for a podcast episode that discusses the UEFA settlement that Villa have to comply to, that dictates what they can do in the summer transfer window. You know, a discussion on the factual reality of the lay of the land. I think you got a bit excited there.
