If you don’t already know, there will be some restrictions on access for the game against Millwall at Villa Park.
Changes will include various parking restrictions, road blockages and approach routes to the stadium.
The club have said there will be signage around the ground on matchday to assist with these changes and there are full details below, including downloadable maps.
Millwall supporters unhappy with any arrangements, should consider that Aston Villa and Birmingham City fans also have to tolerate such arrangements on derby day to ensure that the match passes with the minimal of trouble.
West Midlands police are obviously showing concern regarding recent happenings at the Millwall vs Blues game and also will have incidents around Villa Park back in 2010, when Millwall played Villa in a FA Youth Cup game, in the back of their minds.
The Birmingham Mail report on the happenings on the night in 2010 is only the tip of the iceberg of the actual events, when considering Millwall fans had allegedly planned a petrol bomb attack on The Adventurers pub. Yes, this was just a Youth Cup game.
Anyway, hopefully the Christmas spirit is embraced and all passes quietly.
