Aston Villa’s April Fixture Changes – Temporary?
Aston Villa’s April Premier League fixtures have been reshuffled after being selected for live television broadcast, but Villa fans may find themselves hoping for further changes – for all the right reasons.
Three Changes
Three key fixtures – against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, and Manchester City – have all been picked up by Sky Sports for live coverage. However, each of these games comes with a caveat, as Villa’s progress in both the Champions League and the FA Cup could trigger further rescheduling.
Villa are currently set to host Nottingham Forest on Saturday, April 5, with a 5.30pm kick-off live on Sky Sports. This could shift to Sunday, April 6, at 2pm, if Premier League teams remain active in the Champions League that week.
Two weeks later, Villa welcome Newcastle United to Villa Park on Saturday, April 19, again kicking off at 5.30pm on Sky Sports.
The month concludes with a Monday night trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City on April 28, kicking off at 8pm, also live on Sky Sports. However, this fixture is subject to further movement if either side reaches the FA Cup semi-finals or, in Villa’s case, the Champions League semi-finals.

Knockout Runs
With European and domestic cup glory still in play, Villa fans will be hoping these dates don’t stay fixed for long. Fixture disruption caused by deep runs in Europe and the FA Cup would be the kind of headache supporters would gladly welcome, as it would signify that Unai Emery’s side remain in contention for silverware on multiple fronts.
For now, Villa fans can pencil in the current dates—but they’ll be hoping to have to rewrite their calendars soon enough.
