It’s not the first time that after a round of announcements by SKY TV of upcoming televised games, the obvious choice of Aston Villa vs Leeds was omitted only to be added a week or so later.
Due to both club’s large fanbases they tend to be favoured by Sky TV for selection. Four of Villa’s next seven games will be televised (after their previous two features were also screened by Sky).
Leeds owner Massimo Cellino was once so frustrated by constantly having his team selected that he banned Sky from Elland Road.
One has to feel sorry for the annual subscribers of both Villa and Leeds in-house streaming services, as every game screened on Sky equal one less one the streaming platform they have paid in advance for.
The originally slated pre-Christmas clash at Villa Park on Saturday 22nd December has now been put back a day to Sunday 23rd December at 1.30pm.
