The Final Nike Ball of an Era to Make Its Debut at Villa Park

Last Premier League Nike Ball Makes Debut at Villa Park

Aston Villa’s Premier League clash against Liverpool on Wednesday, 19th February, will mark the debut of the final Nike match ball of a 25-year era as the brand’s time as the league’s official ball supplier nears its end.

This latest release is the third iteration of the 2024/25 Premier League x Nike Flight Ball, designed specifically for the business end of the season. Inspired by the iconic Nike Total 90 footballs between 2004 and 2008, the ball blends nostalgic design with the latest tweaks in cutting-edge ball technology.

The ball is engineered with Aerowsculpt technology, featuring grooves debossed into the casing to allegedly enhance aerodynamics, allowing air to travel more smoothly around it for a truer, more consistent flight. Additionally, its shorter seam length is designed to improve touch and control, giving players greater precision in their passing and striking – that’ll hopefully be the end of Ollie Watkins big chance misses, then!

Incoming Puma

This latest ball release celebrates Nike’s 25th and final season supplying Premier League match balls, with Puma set to take over from the 2025/26 season. After a quarter of a century of iconic designs and technical innovation, Nike will bow out as the longest-serving ball provider in Premier League history.

Villa Park will play host to the ball’s first game when Unai Emery’s men take on Liverpool, in a game Villa will be keen to get something from after recent disappointments in the league.
