Aston Villa Injury Update for Southampton
Currently Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has the benefit of being able to pick arguably his full-strength first XI from an almost fully fit Villa squad. The only missing player that some Villa supporters would insist would be in Gerrard’s ideal line-up would be Marvelous Nakamba.
In Gerrard’s pre-match press conference for the forthcoming match against Southampton, the Villa boss provided an update on the Zimbabwean midfielder, stating he was three to four weeks away from a return.
Meanwhile. there was better news on the Bertrand Traoré front with the winger having been back in training for the past couple of days
“Bertrand Traore joined the group in full training for the first time yesterday,” said Gerrard. “So he’s got two days under his belt now with no issues. We’ll make a decision later today whether he comes back into the squad.”
If he makes it, he’ll be replacing Carney Chukwuemeka, who will miss the Saints game.
“Carney Chukwuemeka will miss the weekend,” confirmed Gerrard, adding, “He’s got an outside chance of being involved against Leeds.”
