Comeback Kid
Tonight will see a low-key friendly between an Aston Villa XI and Tamworth FC, in which it’s been announced by Tamworth FC that Jack Grealish will make his comeback from injury in a 45 minute appearance.
Grealish picked up a hamstring injury at the start of Villa’s pre season trip to Portugal and has missed Villa’s pre season friendly matches so far. His return is a timely boost, with Villa already amassing a growing injury list with under two weeks to go to the start of the season. A list that includes: Jores Okore, Carles Gil, Gary Gardner, Joe Bennett, and now Gabby Agbonlahor
It is the second game in two days for both teams and it’s likely that Villa boss Tim Sherwood, in a similar fashion to the friendly game against Forest Green, will play his secondary squad players like Cole, Richardson, Tonev, Cissokho, N’Zogbia and Baker, as well have a look at Villa’s best youth prospects like striker Jerell Sellars, who’s impressed so far.
With game time limited before the season’s opener against Bournemouth, new signings Jordan Ayew and José Ángel Crespo are good bets to join Grealish in playing some part against Tamworth.
