Watch Hibs vs Aston Villa for Free in the UK
After Aston Villa and Hibernian were forced to move the date of their Europa Conference League play-off match, from the usual Thursday evening spot, there was always going to be an issue of where/if it would be screened in the UK.
The match was brought forward a day due to Hearts also playing in the tournament in Edinburgh on the same night. Due to UEFA rules, the game was moved and the kick-off was set at the earlier time of 5.45pm, so it wouldn’t clash with any Champions League matches that same night.
Initially, it was expected that TNT Sports would perhaps cover it, but no news was forthcoming. Thankfully, though, it’s been announced that the play-off game on Wednesday will actually be broadcast on BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer. BBC Scotland can be found on Channel 115 on Sky.
Meanwhile, for Villans based in the USA, the game will screen on Paramount+.
It’s good news, considering the first-leg at Easter Road in Edinburgh should start off as a feisty affair and get Villa’s first European campaign for over a decade off with a bang.
