Early Top-Four Six-Pointer For Villa With Arsenal

Something for the Weekend – Arsenal

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal arrived at Villa Park knowing that their failure to get any points off Aston Villa last season, ultimately cost them the title. Meanwhile, Unai Emery was looking for a statement win to set up an overlooked Villa team for what could be a very promising season indeed.

Whatever the results against both West Ham and Arsenal, within both games you certainly saw enough in Villa’s performances to suggest the team was evolving nicely for the season ahead. If Villa had an extra couple of weeks of preseason, maybe the Arsenal game would have been won. Ultimately, it was the lack of sharpness from a striker that hadn’t played a minute of preseason for Villa, that had cost them.

This preview show Something for the Weekend was obviously recorded before the game, but the main show discussing the game and the impressive performance of Morgan Rogers, is out very soon.
