Something for the Weekend – Crystal Palace
Philippe Coutinho signing a four-year contract with Aston Villa certainly helped put a spring in Villa supporters’ step, as a mixed bag of a season draws to a close.
What was important for the end of this season was for the club to have some sort of momentum to go into next season with, which will be more defining season for many at the club.
The signing of Coutinho has certainly triggered an eagerness for next to season to start with a fresh slate, and there’s no doubt a top-half finish this term, will also psychologically be a big plus. To achieve that, Villa, who currently sit 12th, will more than likely at least have to win both their upcoming home games against Crystal Palace and Burnley to have any chance.
In the return of Something for the Weekend on the My Old Man Said podcast, we preview the first of the Villa Park double-bill, the visit of Crystal Palace, while also giving our reaction to the Coutinho signing.
