Josh Feeney Signs for Aston Villa
Fleetwood Town confirmed today that their young defender Josh Feeney has joined Aston Villa for a ‘substantial undisclosed fee’. The deal is understood to have built-in add-ons that trigger according to the player’s progress.
The 16-year-old has made very good recent progress through Fleetwood’s Under-18s and Under-23s teams, fast becoming one of the more eagerly sought after talents outside of the Premier League.
Having joined Fleetwood Town’s academy when he was 12-years-old, the centre-back actually appeared on the first team’s substitutes bench three times while he was only 15-years-old.
Since then, Feeney has captained England at youth level, follow his recent call-up earlier this year.
