Morgan Sanson is Loaned to RC Strasbourg
Following on from the news earlier in the week of right-back Frederic Guilbert joining RC Strasbourg, French publication L’Equipe have confirmed that midfielder Morgan Sanson has followed his ex-Villa teammate to Strasbourg, albeit on a season’s long.
While Guilbert had moved to RC Strasbourg on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee, Sanson’s loan isn’t believed to have an option to buy included in the deal. The French 28-year-old midfielder is expected to land in Alsace to join the French team’s squad on Monday.

Despite scoring the opener in the ill-fated FA Cup tie against Stevenage, Sanson has only featured this season in the league, when making a couple of appearances off the bench for a combined 10 minutes of action.
Strasbourg will be paying a healthy percentage of the midfielder’s wages, which are allegedly around the £45,000-a-week mark. The Ligue 1 outfit are currently one place above the relegation zone having only won two of their 19 league games this season.
The French duo’s moves out of Villa Park follow both strikers Danny Ings (West Ham) and Indiana Vassilev (St. Louis City SC) leaving in the past week too.
