Aston Villa Have Four Fixture Changes as New Sunday Reality Kicks in

Three Aston Villa Fixtures Switch to Sunday

After Aston Villa qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, Villa supporters were guaranteed to see even less of their team on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm during the 2023/24 season. Sunday 2pm kick-offs would be the new norm, for as long as Villa stayed in the Europa Conference League.

The Premier League’s first announcement of fixture changes for broadcast this season, included the first two Aston Villa fixture changes due to the club’s European involvement, plus, another two changes due to broadcasting.

The first change for television broadcasting is the change of Villa’s first home game of the season against Everton. The game has been moved to Sunday, August 20 (ko 2pm) to be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Europa Conference League Changes

The Everton game change is like a primer for the next two changes due to the Europa Conference League play-off two-legs.

Because of their European involvement, Villa’s trip to newly promoted Burnley has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 27 (ko 2pm) and then at the start of September, their away day at Anfield will also now take place on a Sunday, on September 3 (ko 2pm).

The final fixture change from the first round of announcements by the Premier League sees the home game against Brighton & Hove Albion moved forward to 12:30pm on Saturday, September 30 for broadcast on TNT Sports.

Premier League Fixture Change Notice Period

The Premier League have made a commitment to provide supporters with six weeks notice of changes, although from January 2024, that notice period will become five weeks.
