Aston Villa Fixtures 2013/14
Increasingly there’s the feeling at MOMS HQ that Aston Villa will be the surprise package of the season. Certainly in early pundit predictions, Villa are no longer mentioned as relegation fodder. If the defence can stay awake throughout the season (Jores Okore falling asleep in his Villa medical isn’t the greatest of signs!), then we should have enough for a top half finish at the very least.
It’s hard to remember a first three games that has looked tougher on paper – including two away trips to top four teams. Still, it’s probably the best time to take on such teams, with players still settling in and the opposition being uncertain what the numerous fresh faces at Villa will provide. In the case of Liverpool, if he’s still at the club, Luis Suarez will still be serving his ban, so at least that’s one bonus.
Anyway, whatever happens, at least we can enjoy being second in the Premier League for the next couple of months. UTV
