Aston Villa Face Switzerland or Scotland Trip
Aston Villa were today drawn in Lyon against either Hibernian FC or FC Luzern in the Europa Conference League play-off round. The first leg of the tie will be away for Villa on the 24th August, with the second leg at Villa Park on 31st August.
After being seeded and placed in Group 3 for the play-off round draw, Villa had already avoided what would have been considered potentially trickier ties in the play-offs against the likes Osasana, Beşiktaş or Rapid Vienna.
If there are any issues in terms of city or stadium clashes with these dates for the fixture, UEFA will communicate it to the clubs before 5pm UK-time tomorrow (Tuesday).
Potential Easter Road Return for John McGinn
If Hibs manage to get past their third round qualifying Swiss opponents, Villa captain will get the chance to play against his former club over two legs, in what would be an emotional return to Easter Road.
