Advice for Villa Supporters Heading to Wembley by Train

Last week, MOMS was informed by Virgin Trains about the rail works Network Rail is undertaking on the Bank Holiday Monday weekend of the Championship play-off final. They’ll be a reduced service on the day of the final. To counter this though, Virgin Trains have got the clearance to put on four extra train services between Birmingham New Street and London Euston (two on the outward journey and two after the game) on the 27th May to help supporters on the day.

Now that Villa have booked their place at Wembley, here’s the details:

The extra morning trains will leave from Birmingham News Street at 09:24 and 10:30, while the returning services will depart from Euston at 19.05 and 20.06.

Advance booking is recommended, as it is expected to be busy due to it being a Bank Holiday.

Don’t forget Villa season card holders and club/claret members are able to get 20% off some services if they book in advance. More details here – Aston Villa Virgin Train Discount

Virgin Trains Announcement

Virgin Trains is encouraging fans wanting to travel to Wembley by train to book in advance as their services are expected to be extremely busy on Bank Holiday Monday. With Network Rail undertaking engineering works over the weekend, a reduced service will operate throughout the day.

After the game the service will be bolstered by two additional trains to Birmingham New Street leaving Euston at 19:05 and 20:06.

Boarding controls will be in place at London Euston and fans are asked to arrive at the station in good time ahead of their booked return service. There are a number of services after the match, with the last train departing London Euston at 23:30.

Fans can also choose to travel with West Midlands Trains (WMT) and Chiltern Railways (to and from Birmingham Moor Street. WMT only tickets are not valid on Virgin Trains services.
