Aston Villa’s Christmas Fixtures Confirmed, a Positive Step for Fans

Aston Villa’s Christmas Fixtures Announced

Aston Villa’s Premier League fixtures over the festive period have been confirmed, with Unai Emery’s side facing four games inside 11 days either side of the new year.

Villa host Leeds United at Villa Park on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December 2026 (ko 12.30pm), live on TNT Sports. They are back at Villa Park four days later for Villa’s final match of the year, against Liverpool on Wednesday 30 December (ko 8.15pm), live on Sky Sports.

The new year opens on the road. Villa travel to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday 2 January 2027 (ko 5.30pm), then to Everton on Tuesday 5 January (ko 7.30pm), both live on Sky Sports.

Improved Notice Period

Clubs and supporters have been given more than three months’ notice, instead of the usual scramble in the weeks before Christmas. That is not the Premier League volunteering generosity: it is the result of the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) pushing for it behind the scenes, having met with the league and Sky Sports earlier this year to argue for earlier notice once the European fixture calendar for the group stages was known.

The Premier League said: “The announcement gives supporters more than three months’ notice to plan and make travel arrangements for a particularly busy time of the year and follows consultation with the FSA and representatives from club Fan Advisory Boards. Over the Christmas and New Year period, clubs have at least a 60-hour break between fixtures. This is in keeping with commitments made to clubs to address the congested festive schedule, in the context of an expanding European and international fixture calendar.”

Positive Step for Football Fans

It is a rare case of supporter lobbying actually landing somewhere, even if the goodwill only stretches as far as the fortnight from the Christmas period. November’s broadcast picks are not due until the week of 21 September, and December’s remaining fixtures not until the week of 19 October, both on the old, shorter timeline the FSA has been trying to extend the notice period of.
