The Exodus of Villa’s Top FC 27 Players
Yesterday, EA SPORTS revealed the latest FC 27 Premier League player ratings for Aston Villa, offering fans some kind of a guide to see how the outside world rates Villa’s players ahead of the new season.
Having already lost big names such as Morgan Rogers and ouri Tielemans ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, many thought that would be the extent of the major outgoings, but the three players given a supposed extra week off to recuperate from the World Cup and who missed the Super Cup final, despite PSG’s World Cup players all returning for the match, seem to have an alternative motive for having additional time away. All have been in talks with moves away from Villa.
The World Cup Three
First of all, Emi Martinez’s link with Juventus fired up again, after Villa decided to jump on the market opening for Zion Suzuki, whose transfer was officially announced today. Then soon on the back of that, Al Hilal’s chase for Ollie Watkins entered the public domain with the initial bids up to €45m being rebuffed by Villa. Arsenal’s continuing interest in Ezri Konsa crystallised too, with Villa agreeing a £51m & add-ons deal with Arsenal.
Looking at the respective players’ scores for EA SPORTS FC™ 27 it provides context for what Villa are potentially losing here, in short, three of the club’s top five players in terms of overall score.
Emi Martinez with a score of 85 is deemed Villa’s best player according to FC 27 overall scores, and at the time of writing, the likes of Chelsea and Spurs are being linked to the keeper. Do Villa really want Martinez improving one of the teams that are a threat to their European aspirations?
Ezri Konsa is Villa’s joint-second best player based on his score of 84 – tying with Boubacar Kamara – and after Villa have agreed a £51m & add-ons deal with Arsenal, the current Premier League champions have gone a long way in solidifying their title defence.
Ollie Watkins is the joint fourth best player alongside captain John McGinn and it’ll be interesting to see if Al Hilal return with an improved bid for the 30-year-old, who would dramatically increase his wages with such a move.
Doing Madjo Dirty
In terms of the accuracy of the EA Sports ratings below, well, while most are a fair enough ballpark, the rapid emergence of Brian Madjo has certainly caught the EA Sports crew flat-footed. A 65 overall score and a physical rating of 74?

Let’s just say, you’d expect a dramatic rise in Madjo’s scores next season, if everything goes to plan in the next few months.
Manzambi Rise
Meanwhile, Villa’s record signing Johan Manzambi is rated at 80. The 20-year-old midfielder current stands as the 10th best Villa player (if you don’t count the departed Lucas Digne in the below table). At the current rate of departures from the club, the Swiss international may move up a place or two more before the transfer window slams shut.
